Locating the queen in a hive of honeybees is not always easy. Two hive bodies with approximately 30000 worker honeybees and only one queen. Watch how our 2012 Indiana Honey Princess Brooke Mandel makes finding the queen look easy. Also watch an interview with Brooke as to what see has been doing in the State of Indiana thus far.

Want more G&F? glossedandfound.com We take a ride with Jana Kinsman of Bike-A-Bee, a new initiative that promotes, of all things, beekeeping by bicycle. Jana shows us the ins and outs of keeping bees (most importantly how NOT to get stung) and, like every great bike ride, this one ends with a picnic at Patchwork Farms. Which makes us realize the best part of beekeeping: the sweet, sweet honey.

This beekeeper in Japan thinks that bees keepers should be separated by 4km. I am thinking that he does not want contamination of bee?… the thing is his bees are ALREADY infested with Deformed Wing Virus and Mites as I got my bees from him and they were and you can see the video below when I went to talk to him and he wasn’t there and decided to see if my bees were just the only ones sick… they were no.
